JEREMIAH 31:23

JEREMIAH 31:38

1192

23 Thus saith the LORD OF HOSTS , the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, 1 when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness. P 24 1 And there shall dwell in Judah it- self, and in all the cities thereof togeth- er, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.. P 25 1 For I have 2 satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrow- ful soul. P 26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me. 27 Behold, 1 the days come, saith the LORD, that I will 3 sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast . P 28 1 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD. P 29 1 In those days they shall say no more, 4 The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. P 30 1 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. 32 5 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 5 But 6 this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, 7 I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; 1 and 8 will be their God, and they shall be my people . P 34 5 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: 9 for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; 1 for I will forgive their iniquity, 6 and I will remember their sin no more . P 35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordi- nances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD OF HOSTS is his name: 36 If those 10 ordinances depart from be- fore me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. 37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. 38 Behold, 1 the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner. 31:31 The “ new covenant ” guarantees Israel a converted heart, when she finally accepts CHRIST as the MESSIAH at the end of Daniel’s Seventieth Week ( Dan 9:24-27 ). This covenant is unconditional (eternal) and has to do with the regeneration, forgiveness, justification of Israel, outpouring of the Holy Spirit and Israel’s regathering and restoration to the place of blessing –all founded on the shedding of the blood of Jesus (Jere 31:31-37 & 32:37-41, Isa 61:8-9, Ezk 37:21-28, Mt 26:28, Mk 14:24, Lk 22:20, Rom 11:27, I Cor 11:25, II Cor 3:6 and Heb 8:6-7 ,8-9:15 & 12:24 & 13:20). NOTE - Although this “ new covenant ” was new to Israel, it was not new to mankind. Abraham understood this covenant, which dealt with salvation through the coming MESSIAH (Gal 3:16-18), over 400 years before Israel was even birthed as a nation (Exo 14). In truth, the “ new covenant ” is in reality older than the old covenant given to Israel through Moses. Whereas the “ new covenant ” was the promise of everlasting life through CHRIST , the old covenant was the promise of “more of this life” through obedience to the Laws of Moses. 31:35-37 God says “If I ( the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar – vs 35) don’t keep my word concerning Israel ( If those ordinances depart from before me – vs 36), then I’m not God and Israel will cease to exist. But, as long as you can look up and see the immeasurableness of the heavens ( If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath – vs 37), there will always be a nation called Israel”… no matter what the Islamic Hadith (the purported records of the Prophet Muhammad’s actions and sayings) or the Islamic Qur’an proclaims. David Wilkerson in The Vision and Beyond notes:

Israel is invincible because it is flowing in the tide of divine prophecy. There is no nation on earth powerful enough to destroy Israel, and only God’s appointed time will an enemy trample through the streets of Jerusalem. 1
