ISAIAH 66:4

ISAIAH 66:19

1129

12 For thus saith the LORD , 8 Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. P 13 As one whom his mother comforteth, 8 so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. P 14 8 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your 9 bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation towardhis enemies. P The promise of Wrath when CHRIST returns (Fulfilled - Rev 19:11-21) 15 10 For, behold, the 11 LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, andhis rebukewithflames of fire. P 16 For by fire and 12 by his sword 10 will the 11 LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD 13 shall be many. P 17 They that 14 sanctify themselves, and purifythemselves inthegardensbehindone tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and 15 the mouse, 10 shall be consumed together, saith the LORD . P 18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, 8 that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. P 19 8 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall 16 declare my glory among the Gentiles. P

4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; 1 because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. 5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; your brethren that hated you, that cast you out 2 for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. 6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. The promise of Great Tribulation to come, i.e., the DAY OF THE LORD (I Thess 5:1-3); of CHRIST’S First Coming (Fulfilled - Rev 6:5-8 & 13:5 & Lk 2:7,11 - 1 BC) 7 Before 3 she TRAVAILED , 4 she brought forth; before her 5 pain came, she was delivered of a 6 MAN CHILD . PP The promise of Israel’s rebirth, regathering, 8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be 7 born at once? for as soon as Zion 3 TRAVAILED , 8 she brought forth her children. P P 9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to 8 bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. P 10 8 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: P 11 8 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. P and restoration (Fulfilled - Rev 20:4)

66:7 It is customary for birthing pains to precede a birth, not follow a birth. However, in Israel’s case her pains after her birth will far outweigh her pains in order to be birthed. Israel was birthed in Egypt after 215 years of bondage and slavery, from 1702 BC (Gen 46:27) to 1487 BC (Exo 12:37). She will be rebirth as a nation after the Great Tribulation. Thus her 215 years of pain before her initial birth in 1487 BC will be nothing compared to the 3½ years of pain during the Great Tribulation before her rebirth. 66:9 In essence, what God is saying is, “Should I birth Israel and bring her through 3400 years of difficulties and not bring forth converted Israel to the full blessings of the Millennium?” 66:12-13 Although the masculine terms for God predominate God’s personhood, Scripture describes God in both masculine and feminine terms ( I Thess 2:7,11 and Gal 5:22 -23). According to the Evangelical Dictionary of Theology , scripture clearly teaches that God’s person transcends both human maleness and femaleness. 1 William P. Young, in his book called The Shack , clearly points this fact out. 2 1 Evangelical Dictionary of Theology . Grand Rapids, MI, Baker Academic, 1984, 2001. Print. 2 Young, William P.
