ISAIAH 54:3

1113

The promise of CHRIST’S rejection and acquaintance with grief (Fulfilled - Mt 26:59 - AD 32 & Lk 22:28 - AD 32 & Mt 27:31 - AD 32) 3 1 HE is despised and rejected of men; a 2 MAN of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed 3 HIM not. PPP The promise of CHRIST to heal all those who come to Him ; of HIS redemptive work (Fulfilled - Mt 8:16 - AD 29 & Mt 27:45-50 - AD 32) 4 Surely 4 HE hath borne our griefs, 5 and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem 6 HIM stricken, smitten of GOD , and afflicted. PP 5 But 6 HE was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with HIS stripes we are healed. P 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the 7 LO RD hath laid on 6 HIM the iniquity of us all. P The promise of CHRIST’S silence over His affliction and rejection (Fulfilled - Mt 26:62,63 & 27:12-14 - AD 32) 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflict- ed, yet 8 HE opened not his mouth: 9 HE is brought as a LAMB to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. P The promise of CHRIST’S unjust trial ; of HIS crucifixion; of HIS redemptive work (Fulfilled - Mt 27:2 - AD 32 & Mt 27:35 - AD 32 & Mt 27:45,46,50 - AD 32) 8 9 HE was taken from prison 10 and from judgment: and who shall declare his gen- eration? for HE was 11 cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was 6 HE stricken. PPP The promise of CHRIST’S death among the wicked ; of HIS burial among the rich (Fulfilled - Mt 27:38 & 60 - AD 32) 9 And 12 HE made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in 13 HIS death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in HIS mouth. PP
