ISAIAH 49:25

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. 17 9 Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee. P 18 9 Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth. P 19 For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, 9 shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away. P 20 9 The children which thou shalt have, after thouhast lost theother, shall sayagain in thine ears, The place is too 10 strait for me: give place tome that Imay dwell. P 21 9 Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? andwho hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been? P 22 Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, 9 I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set upmy standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. P 23 9 And 11 kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am theLORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. P The promise of Babylon’s fall to Medo-Persia (Fulfilled - Dan 5:30,31 - 539 BC) 24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus saith the LORD, 9 Even the

7 Thus saith the LORD , the 1 RE- DEEMER of Israel, and his 2 HOLY ONE , to 3 HIM whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, 4 Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the HOLY O N E of Israel, and he shall choose thee. PP 8 Thus saith the LORD, 5 In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a 6 covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; P 9 That 7 THOU mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. P 11 And 4 I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. P 12 4 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of 8 Sinim. P The promise to bring Israel back to Jerusalem (Fulfilled - Ezra 1:1-3 - 536 BC) 14 But Zion said, The LORD hath for- saken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. 15 Can awoman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, 9 yet will I not forget thee. 49:7 Though “despised” at His first coming (Isa 53:3), CHRIST will be worshipped at His second coming. 49:8 The “ covenant of the people ” is a reference to the New Covenant ( Jere 31:31 -33 and Heb 8:6 -7) by which CHRIST will gather all believers (both Jew and Gentile) from far and wide. 49:15 You may lose track of God (if humans can lose track of their own children, they can certainly lose track of God), but God will not lose track of you ( yet will I not forget thee ). 49:16 God’s relationship with His people is such that He is inseparably united ( thy walls are continually before me ) to His people ( Psa 37:28 , Jn 10:28-29 , Phil 1:6 , II Tim 1:12 , Eph 1:13-14 & 4:30 , and Heb 7:25 ). The Liberty Bible Commentary notes: That this verse teaches the security of the believer is more than obvious. 1
