Chapter Seven

Becoming Unshakable

It needs to be said that the church will not be spared the events

that will shake the nations. Every believer in a nation going

through those events will experience them, along with everyone

else. The key is how believers will deal differently with those

circumstances.

The testimony of the church must be one of faith and strength

in the face of trouble. That will catch the attention of the nations,

and draw them to the house of God.

An unshakable and overcoming life in Jesus Christ does not

arrive gift-wrapped with our salvation. The ability to live that life

indeed comes with our new being in Christ; but to develop it we

must grow in our capacity to access God’s grace . Like any

child, we must be “parented” by God the Father if we are to face

life with His strength and wisdom.

This truth is clearly dealt with in the Book of Hebrews, in the

first 17 verses of Chapter 12 — a pivotal chapter we earlier

identified as expanding upon Haggai ’s revelations about the

shaking of the nations. The prophet said that God would raise
