The Shaking of Nations - A Harvest Tsunami Is On Its Way....
In another Psalm, David declared that he would have fainted or
despaired if he could not have found God’s goodness in life (Ps.
27:13).
I have emphasized that God is progressively exposing the
futility of nations striving to create long-term peace and stability.
The poet Alexander Pope famously wrote, “Hope springs
eternal!” But people today are losing hope in governmental
solutions for stability. They are increasingly weary of negative
news and are hungry for good news. Praise God, they will find
it —through God’s transformed church bringing His wisdom and
power into solving insurmountable problems.
As I reviewed the passage of Psalms 4:6-8 that Pastor Johnson
had written about, I identified two characteristics of God’s
manifest goodness that will positively shake the searching
nations in their discovery of His goodness.
1. GOD IS GOOD AND DESIRES OUR GOOD: True
goodness reflects the presence of God and His work. It is
the shining forth of God’ s face upon that moment, bringing
relief and hope. At times it is palpable. True goodness is an
encounter with God Himself. Every good and perfect gift in
life comes from above (James 1:17). Jesus stated, “ No one
is good but one, that is God” (L uke 18:19). David pointed
out that his gladness of heart was greater than what comes
from our labors and prosperity. This is not circumstance-
