European believers. It is not culture that divides us but sin and

our sin nature.

God’s purpose is to cleanse each culture of what is sinful and

to transform it into His ways of communicating His Kingdom.

The Kingdom of God is the overarching culture as seen in

Hebrews 12:18-28 and Revelation 4 and 5. But such a divine

atmosphere only purifies and highlights the delightful

uniqueness of each culture. God does not want to destroy

cultures but to save and transform them to serve and express

the love and life of God.

What this means is that the church seeks to value and save

each culture as well as the people in it. The Great Commission

points to the fact that we are to disciple every nation in the life

and teaching of Jesus. Christian missionaries are to find how

the gospel gains greater value and strength through the

uniqueness in each culture where God sends them. The gospel

brings each culture to its finest expression.
