Chapter Twenty-One

Building the School of the Prophets

The second assignment the Lord gave me, over 40 years ago,

was the building of the school of the prophets. As I have

attempted to obey God’s direction, I have come to realize the

importance of the amazing power of the prophetic word to

inspire, mobilize and impact people and nations for the glory of

the Lord.

Like the apostolic, the prophetic is one of the foundational

ministries for establishing and growing the church (Eph. 2:19

20). The church is founded on the rock of Jesus’ life and

ministry. But on that foundation spiritual construction begins

with the word and work of the apostolic and prophetic. These

two foundational ministries are critical in preparing the church

for the shaking of the nations and the drawing of nations into a

glorious church.

The prophet Malachi predicted that there was going to be a

return of the prophetic ministry of the great prophet Elijah (Mal.

4:5-6). Elijah was seen by the Israeli nation as the prophet who

almost single handedly called backslidden Israel back to

faithfulness to the Lord during the reign of one of the most
