powerful ruler at that time and set up a miraculous life saving

economic policy.

God gave Joseph the indisputable wisdom that Egypt needed

that no one else had. The world will increasingly face problems

that only God knows how to solve. Such revelations (or divine

downloads) given to His people will make them immediately

indispensable with incredible influence.

We see this type of wisdom in Daniel, who gains great influence

in the government of two empires and sets the stage for the

restoration of Israel as a nation (Dan. 2:46-47). We can see it

in the great Rabbi Ezra and his co-leader Nehemiah, who

gained great favor and influence in the empire of their day,

opening the door for Israel to rebuild its temple and become a

nation again (Ezra 7:6; Neh. 2:8). And God even raised up a

heathen king named Cyrus whom He used to restore Israel’s

worship and nationhood.

This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. (Ezra 1:2)

God appointed this king who somehow knew what God wanted

him to do. Was he a believer? Most likely not. But can God use

the lost to serve His purposes? Obviously, yes. Let us not limit
