The Shaking of Nations - A Harvest Tsunami Is On Its Way....
After this stark change of plans, those two young leaders found
some like-minded kids in the Santa Clara Valley and set up
what they called a “Jesus commune” in the nearby city of
Campbell. It began attracting a handful of converts, and —
astonishingly — developed them into a powerful outreach
ministry.
To this day I do not know how they got the money — let alone
approval from the property owner — to lease the big house that
they dubbed “Maranatha House.” Their house ministry never
advertised or promoted itself; but increasingly, handfuls of kids
would show up at the door wanting to stay there, or just hang
out.
The commune leaders developed a successful hauling
business that provided support for the ministry. By the end of
its first year, Maranatha House had young people of all types
crowding in to study scripture, be healed, or be delivered of
demonic oppression; and they routinely went out to witness
together in the city. God simply put His hand on that house, and
people were drawn to it.
At its height, Maranatha House became so popular that crowd
control became a regular consideration. One night motorcyles
roared up and a group of bikers in leather jackets came to the
door. When they found there was no room inside, they made
