Study and Reflection

1. To understand the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the

church in the last days, we must study more fully the

prophetic message in Joel 2. Read and reflect on all the

verses in that chapter.

2. Review the Palestine rain cycle again — its two distinct

seasons of rain, and how each relates to the annual

harvest.

3. Notice in Acts 1 how the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit

fell on the Jewish feast day of “first fruits , ” initiating the age

of the church and the worldwide harvest of nations. Why

would we not expect an end-time finale of this outpouring,

as symbolized by the Feast of Tabernacles, to prepare the

church to finish the harvest?

4. What effect would such an outpouring have on the church

today?
