It is true that grace works best in those who learn to die to self,

and to lay hold of the promises of God. This comes from

character-building through spiritual disciplines. But the hallmark

of the Kingdom of God is not just a disciplined life — it is also

the atmosphere of heaven released through the believer who

is carrying His Presence. That atmosphere allows us to live in

the joy and victory of heaven. Now — not at some hoped-for

time in the future. Circumstances may constrain our mind and

body to the reality of earth, but our spirit is free to be nourished

by the life of heaven.

Let me go a step further. Not only can we enjoy strength and

life from the atmosphere of heaven, but we can release it into

our families, our workplaces, our cities, and our nation. When
