Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour,
baking powder and salt. Chill the dough for at least one hour to set up hard enough to roll.
Roll out the dough on floured surface to about 1 inch thick. Cut into rectangles the size of each picture frame. Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven until they start to go golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool and crisp up. Set aside.
