CHOCOLATE PICTURE FRAMES

CHOCOLATE PICTURE FRAMES ARE COMPLETELY EDIBLE AND A UNIQUE GIFT TO HAND OUT AT A BRIDAL OR BABY SHOWER. True, they are a little more advanced than most of the recipes in this book but are a great DIY project for someone who loves crafts and chocolate! You will need to source plastic mold frames either online or at a local cake decorating shop, along with edible silver or gold powder. The edible photo can be sourced at Walmart or your local large supermarket in the bakery department. I’ve included some step by step photos to guide you along. MAKES 4 PICTURE FRAMES

CHOCOLATE PICTURE FRAME 8 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips 4 plastic chocolate picture frame molds ¼ cup store bought Royal icing ½ ounce container silver or gold sparkle powder 1 teaspoon vodka

ROLLED SUGAR COOKIES 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened ¼ cup granulated sugar 1 egg ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt 4 edible cookie sheet photos to fit plastic frame mold

THE DAY AHEAD OF ASSEMBLING THE FRAMES 1 Make your Chocolate Frame

2 Reprint your photo

Once you have determined what photo you want to put into your edible frame you need to upload it to a computer and then reduce the size of the photo so that it fits perfectly into the chocolate picture frame. Take it to the local grocery store bakery or cake decorating supply store and ask them to print four photos. Carefully trim the edible photos so they fit into the frames. Set them aside.

Melt the chocolate over a double boiler and carefully pour into the molds all the way to the top. Refrigerate over night or for about 2 hours or until set.
