Now, bulls and goats are no longer acceptable. %XW LQ WKH PLGGOH RI WKH ZHHN« Through the sacrifice of Himself as the perfect and lasting VDFULILFH -HVXV WKH 0HVVLDK HQGHG VDFULILFH DQG RIIHULQJ ,W KDSSHQHG ´LQ WKH PLGGOH RI WKH ZHHNµ (verse 27). Jesus was crucified after three and a half years of earthly ministry, or in the middle of the last seven-year week of 'DQLHO·V SURSKHF\ . All right, then, but where is the other half-week? 7KH SURSKHF\ RI 'DQLHO UHTXLUHV ERWK WKH &URVV DQG WKH 6HFRQG &RPLQJ WR ´FRQILUP D FRYHQDQW ZLWK PDQ\ IRU RQH ZHHNµ YHUVH The last verse of the prophecy uses the expression even until the consummation, which ties it to the book of Revelation. The final three and a half years, then, must be at the end of the age, EHFDXVH WKH\ FHUWDLQO\ DUH QRW PHQWLRQHG LQ WKH JRVSHOV WKH $FWV RU WKH HSLVWOHV « but they are mentioned five times in the book of Revelation! Here are those five verses in Revelation: The angel Gabriel did not instruct Daniel concerning the last half, or the seventieth week, because this period belonged to another dispensation. Now, however, we approach the fulfillment of this great prophecy. Notice that the three-and-a half-year period is mentioned to Daniel both before and after he received the Seventy Week Prophecy (Daniel 7:25; 12:7).
