• Mt. 7:21-23: Are these Christians who say, "Lord, Lord..." ? What does Jesus mean when he says, "I never knew you..." ? What was their root problem?

6. Sections 73-81

• Throughout Jesus' entire ministry, how many specific individuals did He raise from the dead? Who were they?

• Mt. 11:9: Why is John the Baptist considered to be "more than a prophet"?

• Mt. 11:14: What did Jesus mean when He said, "he, himself, is Elias, who was to come" ?

• Lk. 7:47: Does this verse suggest that a person who grew up in the church and never became involved in deep sin loves Jesus "little"? Explain what Jesus meant.

7. Sections 82-92

• Mt. 13:8: If the seed is the same, and the ground is the same, what may possibly account for the difference in the yield? Answer this in regard to the natural wheat harvest, and then make application to the spiritual life of the believer.

• Lk. 8:10: In light of this verse, why did Jesus speak in parables?

• Mt. 13:32: The parable of the sower and the seed is the key to all the parables (Mk. 4:13). With that in mind who do the birds represent that are nesting in the branches?

• Mt. 13:44-46: The treasure and the pearl refer to who?

8. Sections 93-103

• Mk. 4:35-41: What should the apostles specifically have done that would have strengthened their faith and not panic?

• Mk. 5:6: Who was addressing Jesus — the man or the demons?

• There appears to be an apparent contradiction between Mt. 10:10 and Mk. 6:8 from the New American Standard translation. What is the contradiction and how can this be resolved?

• Mk. 6:5 says that Jesus could do no miracle in Nazareth except that He healed a few sick people. Was it that He literally couldn’t do it, or that He simply chose not to?

9. Sections 104-110

• Mk. 6:31: Jesus tells His disciples to take a rest for a while. What sort of vacation did this become?

• Jn. 6:5: Why do you think Jesus asked Philip, of all His disciples, where he could get bread? (There were two other apostles who also could have been asked.)

• Mt. 14:28-29: What do these two verses tell us about the subject of divine guidance?

• Jn. 6:42: On what other two occasions did people have a similar reaction?

10. Sections 111-123

• Mt. 15:4-6 (page 110): Show how this example illustrates how the religious leaders placed the keeping of traditions above keeping the word of God.
