To make matters worse, July 4 th weekend was coming up just before we were to leave. But I knew, by faith, I would have my passport in hand before our flight to Port-au-Prince. I went down and applied for a new passport and paid for expedited service . I had no idea how close I would come getting my new passport before our flight to Haiti. Within only a few days after my phone call with Bro Bill, our Haiti ministry team gathered together in Southern California at the Trinity Broadcasting Network studios. Scott Crawford, a veteran street minister we had all known for years was part of our team. Also, Jerry Davis, a veteran missionary, musician and evangelist who had ministered in over 60 countries. We had all been on many ministry trips, but none of us was prepared for what was about to happen in Haiti over the next couple of weeks.
