Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

Chapter 5

Haiti – Martial Law

I t seems like so many of the mission adventures and outreaches Jesus sends me out on all begin with one thing… an unexpected phone call. That is exactly what happened on a July afternoon in 2005. I was in our spare bedroom in North Hollywood, CA, playing my guitar and working on a new song for an album I was about to record. My cell phone rang out. Somehow, maybe a nudge from the Holy Spirit, I knew this unexpected phone call was going to be epic. I could feel it. When I answered the call, the voice on the other end of the phone said, “Hey Bro Bob… Man of the Living God… Brother Bill here.” It was my old street preaching, eight-foot wooden cross carrying friend, Brother Bill Henderson. I hadn’t talked to Bro Bill in years as we had both gone on different ministry paths the Lord had led us into, so we hadn’t connected in a long while. It was good to hear from him. Brother Bill, along with his brother Ken, were Founders and Directors of a great street outreach ministry based in San Bernardino, California called Soldiers for Jesus. These brothers were true, dedicated soldiers for Jesus. And they always showed up with a team ready to share Jesus and get people saved and filled with The Holy Ghost.
