The dozen or so alternative-style kids, who only moments before were having a raucous time, hootin’ and hollerin’ against the Lord, suddenly fell quiet with no reply in mind. The Holy Ghost was dealing with them. So, as I tend to do, I pressed the issue with a question I’m sure they had never heard before. “When is the last time anyone ever prayed for you?” They shot looks of confusion and bewilderment back and forth, and then one teen broke the silence with the words, “Never.” I said, “Every one of you join hands right now. I am going to pray for you and God is going to touch your life.” I detected a bit of fear and trembling among them, as they had never experienced this kind of Holy Ghost confrontation before. They shot looks back and forth at each other that almost seemed to say, “We better do what he says… he might go off on us.” I had Pastor Sarge join our prayer circle as each of us joined hands. I instructed each one of them to bow their heads as I prayed, “Lord Jesus, I come before you now and lift these beautiful young people before Your Throne. I ask you to forgive them for the way they have acted toward you.” I continued praying, “I ask you to draw them to Yourself and show them Your love and mercy, because You died on the cross for each of them. Reveal your mighty power and Light that they may come to know You. Amen.”

I think somehow even this rag-tag crowd knew the word Amen meant the prayer was over. They all released
