Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

The one testimony of those answered prayers that has always stood out to me was of a woman who was suicidal. She was actually standing at the edge of a cliff mustering up the courage to jump to her death to end all her pain and suffering. God had a better plan! As this woman stood there, she said that a rushing wind began to blow and cause some papers to swirl all around her. Annoyed, but curious, she began to catch the papers. When she began to read what had been lovingly written about the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ she began to weep. She prayed as she stood at the edge of the cliff to receive Jesus into her heart. God absolutely was not finished with Pastor Jesus Velarde! Through much prayer and a team of men with a heart after God, the front section of the old home was demolished, and a brand-new home was built in its place for the Velarde family. The team was headed up by our dear friends, Lamon and Margrett Bishop. They were homebuilders (Cornerstone out of Temecula, California) and had friends in the same business. I believe most of the building materials were donated by people who were builders. What a blessing these men and women were to volunteer to build this very deserving family a home. David and Linda Stanley made many trips back and forth to Tijuana from their home in Temecula. Over the years we would throw a Happy Birthday, Jesus Party for children at the church. Then we began to invite children in the community to join the parties. One of the last parties we threw for the kids, we bussed in over 600 children, and we had 130 volunteers on our team plus volunteers from the church headed up by Martha and her precious mom, Delia Velarde! We had so much fun that day.
