Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

preached and the question we ask each other to this day in times like these is, “How Much Is a Soul Worth?”

I got it. I reminded myself this urgent mission to the Philippines was God’s mission, not mine, and He would provide and help us recoup the extra money we had to pay out for the flight. We got on board and flew to Cebu City and waited for our small plane to Tacloban City. As we prepared to board the plane, each one of us was called by name to come to the ticket counter for our backpacks, guitar, and small carry-on items to be weighed. Then, any air traveler’s worst nightmare came upon us. Not only were they weighing our travel items, but they also had each one of us step on the scales and they weighed us individually. They weighed each of us!!! Can you imagine getting ready to board a plane and how much you pay depends on your personal weight? Fortunately, my new Filipino friends didn’t’ weigh a lot and I had been on a weight loss and health regimen for a while. Thankfully, we were cleared to go onboard to Tacloban without any extra charges, Thank God, because I was still trusting the Lord to provide for the hundreds of dollars, we had to pay earlier to bring all of our supplies with us. Well, the Lord has His way of working things out. He always has a good plan. As we landed at the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport in Tacloban City, our hearts broke. Outside, as we could see from the airplane windows, looked what you would think it might look like after a nuclear bomb exploded.
