the children of South Africa. Christmas was approaching in the not-too-distant future. I recalled Sondra talking about how expensive it was to ship just a small box to South Africa. I also remembered it being said there is a lot of corruption and that boxes took a long time to ship. Who knew if the boxes would actually arrive in South Africa? I asked the Lord to show me how we could get gifts to the children. Sondra was gone. By this time, honestly, I was feeling like somehow, I was failing what Sondra would have wanted to do for the children of South Africa. In a still, small voice I heard the Lord say to me, “Why don't YOU go?” That really stunned me. Me? I remembered my answer to Sondra the last time she invited me to go to South Africa with her… “ If God ever tells me to go, I will go.” I was stunned. At about that same time I heard Bobby coming down the hallway near my office. I asked him to come into the office. I couldn’t believe the words I was hearing come out of my mouth. “Bobby, how would you like to go to South Africa and take toys to the children?” I always trust Bobby to be the voice of reason when I get a wild idea! I thought he might say that it wasn’t a good idea. He might tell me we need to talk about it and pray about it for a while. I was safe…Bobby would keep me from just flying off to South Africa with toys in hand and not knowing a soul there. Have I mentioned what a wonderful husband and best friend Bobby is? He has a heart after God and is always willing to be obedient to the voice of the Lord. He always tells people that the first “word” in Gospel is “GO”!
