I thought about preaching and singing in Pariaman and the motorbike kidnappers who chased us and stoned our van into oblivion. I thought about the souls that were saved and how the woman who could not see was able to read the John 3:16 scripture. I thought about the arrest and interrogation we endured by the military police in Padang. As I was alone in my seat with the roar of the jet engines singing me a lullaby, I felt the Lord speak to me in His still small voice and He said to me, “You were born to do this!” About half-way home to Los Angeles, I replayed in my mind the story Pastor Steve told us that night at the hotel while we were having communion. He had told the story about Pastor Emmanuel and how he had seen angels in heaven rejoicing over sinners getting saved while playing golden guitars. I took out a pen and picked up a napkin from my tray table and began to memorialize this scene into music as I wrote; “Angels play your Golden Guitars, rejoice throughout Heaven above. ”

purchased by our Savior’s blood.”

We landed at the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX Airport in Los Angeles. I wanted to run outside and kiss the ground. Not only was I thrilled to be back on American soil, but I was also so excited to see Dot and our grandson. Dakota, waiting to pick me up. We got my bags, told our team goodbye, and headed home.
