years. Roy Cypher had served in Viet Nam as a heart doctor in a Mash Unit called “China Beach. ”

Years later there was a popular TV series called China Beach that was based on Roy’s unit. Roy often deployed with the Black Rangers, he got saved and was baptized in the South China Sea during the war. Rudy Gonzalez had served as a Recon Marine in Desert Storm and Brian Bennett had also served as a Marine during Desert Storm. Bill, Rudy, and Brian had ministered with Dot and me and our Team Jesus in Mexico previously. So, we were well-acquainted. Our team was trained and ready to fly 8,978 miles from Los Angeles to Jakarta, Indonesia to answer the Lord’s call to bring disaster relief to hurting families who were living on the streets, fearful to return inside buildings they feared would collapse on them. Of course, our main objective was to preach Jesus and His Gospel Message to people who were crying out with no hope. We knew Jesus and His Salvation was their only hope. We had one small problem as we prepared to go to Indonesia. Much like it had been on many of our international disaster relief trips, we did not know even one person who lived in Indonesia.

But God! He was about to take care of that

problem.
