No one was more shocked than I when suddenly, as if a bolt of lightning had hit her, the young woman raised her head up and her eyes popped wide open. Although still in shock, she began to blink her eyes and look around. WOW! I pulled the grieving man away from her so she could get enough air to breathe. She was not dead. She was alive! Thank God Almighty! Two paramedics knelt down beside me and asked who I was. I told them, “I am a minister of the Gospel and I have been praying for God to revive the young woman and not let her die.” I helped them get her jacket off so they could put her onboard and prepare her for transport to a nearby hospital. A Hispanic woman had come and knelt beside me and was translating the injured woman’s Spanish into English for the medics. I was glad. I learned “Miriam” was the name of the young woman I had been praying for. The man clutching her hysterically was her husband. He had obviously believed she was dying in his arms. I also had feared she was dying in mine. Miriam told the translator she was twenty two years old and three months pregnant. My heart sank when I heard this. I asked God to spare this little life. Her legs appeared twisted and lifeless, possibly broken. As the paramedics readied Miriam for transport, I prayed for her one last time. She looked directly into my eyes and squeezed my hand. She spoke to me in Spanish. Although I didn’t understand, I smiled at her. As I began to stand up and walk away, the interpreter translated words to me I will never forget. “Sir,” she said to me. “Miriam said, ‘Thank you for praying!” Wow! Thank you for praying! Miriam must have understood enough English to know I was calling on
