Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

country, bring food and supplies to starving families, and to preach His Gospel everywhere our feet had trod.

The next morning, we returned to the airport in Bangkok. I was preparing to catch my plane back to Tokyo, and then finally home to Los Angeles. After a short flight from Bangkok back to Tokyo, I finally got on my plane back to America. The airplane was only about half-full, so I was able to sit in a bulkhead row with 3 seats to myself. Still recovering from my severe bout with vertigo, I was exhausted. As soon as the plane took off, I laid down and stretched across the three seats and fell asleep almost immediately. During the 11 ½ hour flight from Tokyo to Los Angeles, I slightly woke up as I heard the captain’s voice over the intercom telling the flight attendants to take their seats as we were experiencing severe turbulence over the ocean. I could feel the plane forcefully pitching downward. I was thinking it felt a little like what I imagined riding a bucking bull might feel like. I didn’t move but fell back asleep. The next thing I remember was the captain’s voice again informing the passengers to prepare because we were about to make our final descent into Los Angeles. I shook myself awake, stood up and went to the lavatory. When I returned to my seat and sat down, I noticed a flight attendant was seat belted into a jump seat that was facing me. I looked at her and said, “Excuse me. Could I have some water?” She looked at me puzzled and mouthed the words, “Are you O.K.?” I smiled and assured her I was fine.
