Our plan was for me to meet Bill, Jerry, and Lee in Tokyo, Japan and then travel together to Bangkok. Once we arrived in Bangkok, we would have to go to the Myanmar Embassy there and apply for travel visas to be able to enter Myanmar. We had no idea how difficult it would be for travel visas to Myanmar to be granted to us. Also, we had no idea of the intense spiritual warfare we would face as we believed God to miraculously open doors for us to get into Myanmar to minister to the thousands of displaced starving men, women, and children. Most of them had lost all family members, killed or missing due to this earth-shattering storm. I met up with Brother Bill, Jerry and Lee in Tokyo, Japan as planned and we flew together to Bangkok, Thailand. We took ground transportation and Bill and I checked into the Bangkok Christian Guest House. Bill and I shared a small, very stark room at the Guest House. There were two twin beds near each other, a small sink and bathroom. The room was crowded with hardly enough room to walk around in it. We were not concerned with our temporary living conditions in Bangkok because our mission there was to go to the Myanmar Embassy and obtain travel visas to Myanmar. Our first morning there, we went straight to the embassy and applied for visas to Myanmar. Once inside the embassy, we informed the authorities we were there from America to help assist in the humanitarian aid for the people of Myanmar. Surprisingly, our visa requests were immediately denied. They were not impressed.
