Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World

Chapter 7 Russia – “ Too Great a Gift ”

I n 1987, Dot and I relocated our family and ministry from Los Angeles, CA to Plano, Texas. We had spent five years serving on staff of The Holy Ghost Repair Service in Hollywood and now the Lord had directed us to birth Streetwise Ministry. I was traveling all across America frequently helping lead outreaches in inner-cities and ministering in churches.

Our mission for Streetwise Ministry was two-fold;

1) to reach the subculture and the unchurched with the Gospel of Jesus Christ

2) to be a catalyst within the church to stir people’s compassion for the lost and encourage them to reach others for Christ. We also wanted our girls to have a chapter in their lives where they grew up around family, were surrounded by cousins, uncles and aunts and various extended family members. We especially wanted them to be able to spend time with and grow up around Dot’s mother, Maxine. We all lovingly referred to her as Granny. Dot, the girls and I left LA in June of 1987 and drove our new Dodge conversion van the Lord had provided us across the nation ministering in outreaches, churches, and youth camps. Our ministry trip took us from LA to New York to Miami and finally back to our new home in the Dallas area.
