Street Stories - A Ringside Seat To Over 4 Decades Of Taking Jesus To The Streets Of The World
night. It was Kim calling from jail. She had been arrested for prostitution and it turned out that she had other warrants out for her arrest. She was going to be in jail quite a while this time. On more than one occasion Bobby and I left our children with a friend at our home while we went to Hollywood to rescue Cleo from a motel room. Sometimes, Kim couldn’t remember who she had left Cleo with. When the phone startled us awake and we heard Kim’s voice she was crying and asked us to once again go rescue her beautiful baby girl. This particular night was one of those times that the information Kim gave us was very sketchy. According to the information she gave us, Cleo had been left at a house in Hollywood with a babysitter. She couldn’t remember the address of the house where she had left Chloe and she didn’t know the babysitter’s name. Bobby and I felt such a sense of urgency to find Chloe that night. This beautiful little baby girl was about a year old and was in the care of total strangers. We didn’t know if she had been left with drug addicts, murderers or God only knew…we had to find her and we had to find her fast. We began to knock on doors at the hooker motel where Kim had been living. No one knew exactly where Cleo was staying. Bobby and I stayed in an attitude of prayer and asked the Lord to reveal to us where we could find little Cleopatra. About 3:00 in the morning we finally found Cleo in a house down the street from the hooker motel. A single mother who did not speak any English was caring for her. Without question she handed the baby over to us. Thank the Good Lord!
