Hollywood Babies

Jesus Loves the Little Children

B obby and I were married three and a half years before we had our first baby. Seven different doctors told me that I would never have children. Being told that broke my heart. More than anything in the world I wanted the opportunity to be a mother and to share a family with Bobby. Bobby actually, at one time, wanted us to have ten children! I told him I would have the first five and he could have the other five. God had other plans for Bobby and me! We are blessed with three beautiful daughters (Amy, Molly, and Emily) and three grandchildren (Dakota, Abel and Elly). I am thankful every day for each of them. Children are truly a blessing from God. Along with parenthood comes an awesome responsibility to nurture and protect the children God has entrusted to your care. Mama Day, my grandmother, a very godly woman, once told me “... the most important job you’ll ever have in life is being a mother.” She couldn’t have been more right! Before God called us to street ministry we were constantly surrounded by other Christians. Looking back, I think we had been living in a Christian bubble of sorts. Our friends were all Christians, we went to church almost every time the doors were open, and we basically didn’t leave our little circle. We were definitely in our comfort zone. I think we may have had blinders on at times.
