Sing Into Your Storm

This honest reproach from the prophet of God caused King Jehoshaphat to return to a vigorous campaign of displacing all forms of idolatry from the peoples, deepening their interest to return to the worship of the one true God, and instill the integrity of righteous government back in the land. But one day, Jehoshaphat got news that a very dark and powerful storm was about to head his way. An unavoidable storm… The Moabites, Ammonites and other surrounding kingdoms had formed a confederacy to come against Jehoshaphat in war. It was only a matter of time before the hordes of hell would march towards him! What should he do? What could he do? He could have tried to summon up all of his army and try to plot a strategic warfare against their army (an army that vastly outnumbered them), but that would have accomplished in his own strength and wisdom. So what did he end up doing? He did the right thing! King Jehoshaphat did exactly what you should do when you see black storms begin to form on your horizon and expect they are heading directly towards you… Once you realize the enemy has unleashed the hordes of hell against you, or your family, friends, church or nation etc. “ And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the L ORD , and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask for help from the L ORD ; with all the cities of Judah, they came to seek the L ORD . ” (2 Chronicles 20:3, 4) Jehoshaphat chose to fast and pray and seek the Lord. His set his eyes upon God and not upon his enemy! In corporate intercession, King Jehoshaphat stood up and declared in the midst of the assembly of Judah, from the House of the Lord:
