Sing Into Your Storm

“ And it happened, as she continued praying before the L ORD , that Eli watched her mouth. Now Hannah spoke in her heart (connotes singing/consoling within her heart…) ; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. So Eli said to her, how long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you! But Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul (lamentation worship) before the L ORD . Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.” (1 Samuel 1:12-16) “ Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the L ORD , and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the L ORD remembered her… So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, Samuel, saying, because I have asked for him from the L ORD .” (1 Samuel 1:19, 20)

Through her dark night of the soul, amidst her anguish, the Lord brought her to a place of desperation and consecration . But from her womb would come destiny for Israel… But guess what the Lord would do? From her womb would come forth a Prophet of prophets, would one day anoint and confirm a king in Israel, David, upon whose throne - God would bring forth His own Son and establish an everlasting Throne!
