Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise
Oh, magnify the L ORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the L ORD , and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalms 34:1-4)
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4)
“In everything give thanks (praise); for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
But entering into sincere praise and worship unto the Lord during the time of a storm in your life can be very difficult, for it is not a given… It only comes by way of choice that arises up out of your heart. That choice can only be made through true and active faith in God in that moment! There is a crossroad you will discover at the outset of your storm(s) and it is the choice of faith, whether to trust in God to bring you through the storm… or not. When you choose to move into worship, beyond the trials and afflictions that have come into your life, your faith begins to be released and joins into partnership with God, empowering you to give Him the burdens you are carrying, the very burdens He wants to take! The Apostle Paul must have understood the importance of what Habakkuk penned because he quoted the prophet. That Scripture turned out to be such a revolutionary revelation in the life of a New Testament believer that it was the very Scripture that God used to bring forth the reformation of the church from out of the dark ages through Martin Luther:
