Sing Into Your Storm ~ Overcoming Adversity Through High Praise

part, to the Lord, because you will need to do until He has the full weight of your burden upon Himself. Then He’s in control! This is not an easy process – your war is real!! But as you truly begin to move further into sincere praise before Him, you will begin to experience the shift I’m talking about and begin to feel the peace that only He can give! That peace will become your ability to sustain and ride the storm out in His Presence! Right now you have a great opportunity to bring Jesus your “ sacrifice of praise .” It’s easy to praise God when you are completely healthy, finances are there to pay all of your bills, the family is doing great, and no one has wronged you or deeply hurt you etc. It’s another thing when your world has been turned upside down and anguish and hopelessness is all you feel. To praise God during these circumstances requires personal sacrifice. It takes an act of your will (heart) to lay down everything upon the altar of God… A precious friend of mine who knew much adversity during his life penned this beautiful song:

“ Come build an altar, unto the Lord, Return to worship and hear His Word, And the fires of revival, will come sweeping through your soul, And you’ll touch the Holy Presence of your God! ”

Build a fresh altar of praise to your God – right in the very midst of your storm! Lay down the burdens you’ve been carrying upon that fresh altar and begin to praise the Lord! You become a sacrifice in praise when you lay down your will (and the determination to try and manage the adversity yourself) in total surrender upon that altar – placing all burden
