5. It is important to recognize this “universal” principle of how

we act on all God’s promises through faith alone…

a. believing God from a sincere heart and … b. confessing that truth or promise as being true resulting in God’s “sozo” being released in our behalf. c. Paul quotes one of many scriptures in the Old Testament (i.e. Isa.28:18) that says whoever trusts in the Lord will not be ashamed (Literally… be made to blush in shame for having trusted God)

6. Paul declares that God is ready to be “rich” in his salvation

mind towards them) all they have to do is “just’ call (invoke)

his name and they will be saved (sozo). (Joel 2:32)

Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without preaching? Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!"

a. Pa ul gives a logical order of the gospel witness…

1) Call : How can they call on him (to be saved) whom they are yet to

believe in?

2) Believe : how can they believe in one they have never heard about?

3) Hear : how can they hear about Jesus without a preacher to tell

them?

4) Send : How will a preacher go except he or she be sent ( apostello : a

sent one). The word comes from the idea of a representative

or an ambassador sent to represent some high authority.

This is why Jesus chooses this title of “apostle” for his twelve disciples (Mk.3:14) Paul is saying that the gospel
