b. We have a position of influence and authority
4. And rejoice in the hope of the glory (The full manifest presence of

a. Heb.4:16 points out we can experience in some measure the
immediate presence of God through the working of the Holy Spirit in
and around us in this present age.
b. But our salvation has purchased for us the great promise that
someday we will see and experience God in all his splendor and glory.
Paul says we see through a glass darkly the things of God but then we
will see Him face to face. (1 Cor.13:12)
5. We have the ability to rejoice ( kauchasthai …to triumph, glory,
exult) in tribulation (James 1:2-4). We can see our challenges
and troubles from a new perspective and respond differently than
we did in our past. We can see our struggles and afflictions as a means
of building Christ likeness into our life causing us to rejoice in our
spiritual transformation. vs.3
a. turning life pressures into building us up in strength to endure
(being patient…holding up under pressure) …
b. this endurance will lead to us EXPERIENCE ( dokimen) the
experience of having tested and proved something true. We learn
of God’s ready help and faithfulness.
c. producing HOPE in us (an anchor or rock-solid assurance and
expectation of future fulfillment) We see a better future!
d. and such Hope won’t let us be ashamed or disappointed
because the Love of God (his devotion to us) is experienced in
our hearts by the Holy Spirit. (vs.3-5) (Ps.119:116)
