ROMANS Study Guide

Rom 11:25 For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, lest you should be wise within yourselves; that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the nations has come in. Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, "There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob. Rom 11:27 For this is My covenant with them, when I have taken away their sins." Rom 11:28 Indeed as regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes. But as regards the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. Rom 11:29 For the free gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Rom 11:30 For as you also then disbelieved God, but now have been shown mercy through their disbelief, Rom 11:31 even so these also have not believed now, so that through your mercy they may also obtain mercy. Rom 11:32 For God has shut up all in unbelief, so that He might show mercy to all.

2. Paul goes into his summary of the first 24 verses: vss.25-32

a. Paul finishes his warning to the Gentiles believes to not be

proud of their inclusion and Israel’s exclusion:

1) This is not going to be a forever condition of Israel…

a) the unbelieving nation is only temporarily blind

(Not permanently)

b) The ending of the national blindness will be when the

“ Fullness of the Gentiles” comes in … vs.25

2) The Fullness of the Gentile is not the end of the age…because

obviously, Israel at the time of its becoming converted…will

play a part in the advancement of the Gospel…together with

Church. The “reaching of the Gentile nations and peoples” and

the glory that will be on the Gentile Church will reach such a point

that Israel will experience a provoking or jealousy of the Gentile

churches’ favor with God and will want that same connection. Israel

will begin to see that what the church has is in fact a real and

powerful relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

(Rom.10:19; 11:14-15, 25-29)

b. Paul makes a startling statement that “all Israel shall be saved”
