as an assistant basketball coach for our son, Rick. He

eventually became head coach of one of the Austin

Warriors basketball teams. He has won several major

tournaments and has a tremendous gift to work with

young people.

2001:

40 th Anniversary

In 2001, Jean and I celebrated our 40 th wedding

anniversary at the beautiful Rosemont Hotel in

downtown Dallas. It was a major and memorable event,

planned and hosted by Darla Gentry, Ruth Gentry and

Brenda Mason. It was an awesome night, surrounded by

our family and friends.

Moving to England

That same year, we decided to move to England

on a part-time basis. Martin Smith and his wife, Anna,

invited us to live in a newly remodeled cottage next to

their home in Rustington, England. We lived only nine

blocks from the beach, where Jean could put her feet in
