I Appeal To Caesar!

holds the hands of a forlorn, older woman unable to walk, supported on either side by two anxious adult children.

Gradually, Jesus stops strolling and touching. He once again lifts his hands toward heaven and begins to sing the 23 rd Psalm. As the words, “The Lord is my Shepherd” float over the vast crowd, amazing things occur.

Various people throughout the audience leap to their

feet shouting, “I am healed!”

Some in the sick section who were first touched by Jesus begin rising to their feet with hands uplifted to God, audibly praising the Lord. The disabled elderly woman now stands upright without support, thanking God with a strong voice and upturned face.

Saul watches wide-eyed . . . “Surely all these people are

not healed!” he whispers with great consternation.

At that moment a young man, sitting near the two Pharisees, begins to unwrap a dirty, bloody cloth from around his injured leg; he also jerks loose the two support boards bound to his leg and jumps to his feet!

“I am healed!” he cries, standing unassisted, tears

streaming down his cheeks.

* * * * * Jesus returns and ascends the big rock. He teaches about God’s love and concern, explaining that these miraculous happenings are expressions of the Heavenly Kingdom, the Kingdom of God.
