3. A time of re-strengthening (Isa. 40:28-31) A time to exchange our weaknesses with God’s strengths.

Taking a Sabbath day each week, also allows us time to reflect on God’s faithfulness and to recount our blessings.

B. Remembering God's FAITHFULNESS. 1. Psalm 78:9-11: “The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They did not keep the covenant of God; they refused to walk in His law, and forgot His works and His wonders that He had shown them.” The people of Ephraim had forgotten God’s works and His faithfulness. As a result, they turned back in the day of battle. 2. Deuteronomy The book of Deuteronomy is basically a proclamation of a second chance for Israel. The majority of the people with Moses were at the threshold of the Promised Land, yet had not witnessed the mighty miracles of Yahweh in delivering His people out of Egypt, in crossing the Red Sea, and the miracles at Mount Sinai. This generation of people were born in the wilderness and reared there. As this new generation of Israelites was poised to enter the Promised Land, Moses vividly recalls to them the power and faithfulness of God throughout their history, and reminds them of their unique covenant relationship with the Lord. Can you think back and recall the mighty power and faithfulness of your God and how He has delivered you count- less times? As you do this, it will strengthen your faith for your destiny. 3. Joshua 1:8-9 Joshua, the new leader of Israel, was given a charge that would ensure success on every side. He was to lead God’s
