God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power

God's Prophetic People

As I got home and opened my mail from the day before, I found a worship tape that was sent by my brother who was a Christian believer. The most unique thing happened as I put the cassette into the player and turned it on: I began to weep. This continued to happen for the next three days. Every time I put this tape in the player and began to hear this music, I would start to weep, and weep. Whether I played the tape in my vehicle or at home, I became emotional. When Wednesday came around, I felt the Lord once again drew me back to that dome-looking church. I walked into the front door and went up and sat in one of the chairs. After a few minutes the pastor (Ken) came and sat down beside me. The worship team came and started praising God in a way I really hadn’t experienced before. They were lifting their hands and being quite boisterous in their worship style. The struggle inside me started to fade away, and in approximately twenty minutes I lifted my hands to the Lord and cried out, “I give up Lord, come into my life.” At that very moment I felt the Lord’s presence in an incredible way. It was like the Lord was pouring hot oil all over my body. I couldn’t stand any longer, for the power of God came over me. I descended to the chair and then the floor, and remained there for quite some time being overwhelmed by the manifest presence of the Lord. God had met me in a very powerful and real way which I will never forget. After this encounter with the Lord, I couldn’t get enough of God, His Word, or His people (the Church). In fact, I never did play a game of golf at that prestigious course that summer. There was such a passion in my heart for God, His presence, His Word, and also for His Church that everything else in life seemed so unimportant to me. All I wanted was more of Jesus. I went to as many meetings as possible. This was my encounter with the living God and the zeal which consumed my life.
