A People of Power

O ur culture at present is in pursuit of prosperity, prominence, and power. This is a society which is striving to be in control of its abilities, resources, and ultimately its destiny (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Many leaders are using their authority and power for their own wishes, manipulating those who are under them to fulfill their own personal desires (Matthew 20:25; Mark 10:42). The results have been devastating. It has left a generation in enormous debt, scarred from improper use of authority, mistrusting of leaders due to the absence of integrity and godly example. In the midst of this whirlwind, God is pouring out His anointing oil to heal, strengthen, and empower a generation to arise and take authority over sin, sickness, circumstances, and Satan. God's prophetic people are those who, through realizing their relationship with and position in Christ Jesus, willingly submit to God’s delegated authority, build up the Body of Christ by serving others, and who receive God's power to extend His Kingdom purposes in supernatural ways (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:17-18; 1 Peter 5:2-5). Recently I was browsing through a popular book store, focusing on the books on success and self-improvement, power, and prominence. I was enlightened to say the least. The following are the titles of these books:
