God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power
God's Prophetic People
Today there are so many things that influence our perception. Here are some examples: • Radio • Social media • Television, videos, movies • Video games • Computers, Internet, and Artificial Intelligence platforms • Music in its various mediums
As Christians, we are constantly bombarded by countless secular influences in today's world. You don’t even have to leave your house to access anything you want. With just a click of a button, you can instantly connect to an overwhelming amount of content — both good and bad. Whether we realize it or not, these influences shape how we view almost everything in life. Take marketing, for example. The goal of any advertiser is to create a desire in you for their product — a desire so strong that you believe you can’t live without it. Suddenly, you need it, and you wonder how you ever got by without it. This is what I call the "Madison Avenue Method." Your kitchen seemed fine until you saw the sleek new appliances in an ad. Your car was doing alright until you saw the latest model on TV. And the list goes on. These marketing tactics shape our perspectives, influencing how we view life, how we spend our time, and even how we invest our resources. If you spend a lot of time watching TV, for instance, you’re likely to start adopting a more worldly mindset —one that’s focused on materialism, sensuality, and instant gratification. These influences have a way of shaping our attitudes and priorities, often pulling us further away from a Christ-centered perspective. We must be like Moses and ascend the mountain of the Lord and renew our perspective by meeting with the Lord of Lords. God desires to meet us in that place. He desires to release and write His Word on the tablets of our hearts.
