God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power

God's Prophetic People

God's presence — like a dead mule. When a mule dies, you don’t keep riding it. Similarly, when programs or traditions lose their life- giving power, it’s time to move on. Many Christians are still tethered to these lifeless traditions, which ultimately stifle the work of the Holy Spirit. They resemble methods that have no biblical foundation or spiritual vitality — like a sinking ship. When the ship is sinking, it’s time to jump off. When the program is no longer bearing fruit, it’s time to refocus on God's presence and His leading. Developing a prophetic perspective will give vital insights into knowing when the cloud of God’s presence is moving on. We all need to keep in step with the Spirit. Eighth , a prophetic perspective will give you insight as to which wave to avoid and which wave to ride out. Each year in Hawaii, there is a contest to see who can ride the big waves of the North Shore. Thousands of people come out to witness this event, and surfers from all over the world come to catch that one unique wave. They wait patiently to ride the right wave, for if they chose the wrong one, destruction could come and they would not get the prize. For us as Christians, it is very important that we carefully select the right waves of the Spirit (John 1:14-18). The truth instead of trends. How will you be able to choose the truth? I believe the answer to this question is by developing a prophetic perspective. Just as not every wave is good, so it is with waves of trends throughout the Body of Christ. Not all streams are clear and pure. Not all waves out there will take you to your desired goal or to a prize at the end. No, some of these waves are like a white squall — they will wipe you out. Developing a prophetic perspective will help you avoid the treacherous waves of trends, and recognize the true waves of God’s Holy Spirit carrying you on to reach your goal and receive the prize.
