God's Prophetic People
In his speech while receiving an honorary doctorate from Harvard University, Winston Churchill said, “Empires of the future are empires of the mind.”23 You need to think God - thoughts. You need to fill your mind with the possibilities that can only come from God by meditating on His Word day and night. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “A man is what he thinks about all day long. A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.” 24 See the Word on Meditation at the beginning of the book. B. Respond in Faith (2 Chronicles 20:20; Galatians 3:2; Hebrews 10:38; 11:1-3,6; James 1:6-7) Hebrews 10:38: “Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 11:6: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” James 1:6: “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.” James 2:17- 22: “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe — and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?” God’s prophetic people are not afraid to move out in faith, to believe God at His word. They are a people who take risks, who step out of the boat. A people who extend their
