God's Prophetic People - A People of Passion, Purpose And Power
God's Prophetic People
The following are some of the strategies of Jesus (His purposes in coming to Earth): 1. To call sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32) 2. To serve, not to be served, and give His life as ransom (Mark 10:45) 3. To preach the gospel of the Kingdom (Luke 4:43) 4. To seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10) 5. To give life more abundantly (John 10:10) 6. To testify of the truth (John 18:37) 7. To save the world, not condemn it (John 3:17) 8. To set the captives free (Luke 4:18) “Power, position, and personal magnetism were for him not ends, but tools to be used for God's kingdom, not so much cause-oriented as people-oriented . . . Jesus saw the heart of the human problem as the problem of the human heart, a radical change from inside out was at the core of his strategy.” - Leighton Ford, Transforming Leadership 17 It is important as Christian believers that we not only have a vision for our lives, but that we develop a strategy for fulfilling that vision. III. THE Birthing OF GOD’S PURPOSE You may be wondering, "How do I receive a vision?" or "How do I discover my purpose in life?" Let's explore how vision can be birthed in an individual’s life. These principles apply not only to individuals but also to congregations.
A. Be Filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; 2:17-18; Ephesians 5:18)
Ephesians 5:18-19: “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord…”
