God's Prophetic People

C. Developing and Maintaining a Spirit of Giving and Sacrifice 2 Samuel 24:24: “Then the king said to Araunah, ‘No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing .’ So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver” (emphasis added). Here, David is our example once again. Arannah wanted to give the threshing floor to David. Yet David, being a man of God and a powerful man of worship, refused. You might ask yourself, “Why?” Because a true worshiper is one who gives, not takes. One who sacrifices, not secretes. God’s prophetic people are those who give and sacrifice to God. Those who worship Him because He is worthy of all praise and glory, not simply for what He may give us. True Davidic worship is sacrificial in nature. Sometimes we don’t feel like worshiping the Lord but in those times we need to remember, our lives as God’s prop hetic people must not be based on feeling, but on faith, and faith involves sacrifice. Romans 12:1-2 states that we must continually offer all (every area of our lives) unto God, which is our reasonable form of worship. Hebrews 13:15 exhorts us to continually offer up a sacrifice of praise unto the Lord. This is well pleasing to our God and maker. Let each and every person offer up the sacrifice of praise every way and everyday unto Jesus! D. Waiting on Your Service and Ministry (2 Chronicles 7:6; 13:10) 2 Chronicles 7:6: “And the priests waited on their offices : the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise
