God And His Word - A Question And Answer Approach To Understanding The Bible
LESSON 6: SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT ANGELS 1. THE CHURCH WILL JUDGE ANGELS. l Corinthians 6:3. Some people are always looking for angels. Esteem them, but do not overestimate their importance. 2. SATAN CAN TRANSFORM HIMSELF INTO AN ANGEL OF LIGHT. 2 Corinthians 11:14. Do not, therefore, seek angels - you could be misled. 3. HELL WAS BUILT FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS, NOT FOR MAN. Matthew 25:41. When men refuse Christ, they automatically go where the rebellious angels are consigned. 4. THE CHURCH HAS BEEN GIVEN COMPLETE AUTHORITY OVER ALL FALLEN ANGELS (INCLUDING SATAN), DEATH AND HELL. Luke 10:17-20. 5. ANGELS DO NOT UNDERSTAND SALVATION AND CANNOT TEACH IT. 1 Peter 1:12; Acts 10:3-6. 6. EVEN A HEAVENLY ANGEL COULD LEAD YOU ASTRAY! Galatians 1: 8 notes that even an angel of heaven could mislead. This shows the supreme importance of knowing God's Word. 7. ANGELS ARE "MINISTERING SPIRITS" TO THE REDEEMED. They are our protectors. There is a tremendous relationship that exists between a Christian's activities and the ministry of the angel that is given to him. Matthew 18:10; l Corinthians 11:10; Mark 1:13; Hebrews 1:14; 1 Kings 19:5-7; Luke 22:43; Acts 12:7. 8. ANGELS KNOW THE NAMES OF CHRISTIANS WHO WITNESS. The angels will know the witnessing saint when he gets to heaven! Luke 12:8. Note also that fallen angels ("evil spirits") recognize the authority of the saints, even when they are not present. Acts 19:15. 9. ANGELS WATCH THE REJOICING OF GOD OVER A SINNER'S REPENTANCE. Luke 15:10. The Bible does NOT say that the angels rejoice, but rather they are in the presence of God's rejoicing!
