WHAT ARE THE CHERUBIM? Inside the tabernacle of Moses, the pictured heavenly beings are always cherubim. Apparently they have only one pair of wings, and are mentioned many times in the Bible. Note that the Living Creatures of Ezekiel have four wings and are called cherubim. 7. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MINISTRY OF THE CHERUBIM? Genesis 3:24 shows cherubim guarding the tree of Life and keeping sinful man out. They are also seen in the tabernacle, guarding the ark and keeping sinful man from entering. Exodus 26:31. 8. WHO ARE THE THREE NAMED HEAVENLY DIGNITARIES? [1] LUCIFER, whose name means "day star," also called Satan or the Devil. Revelation 12:4 and 9; Isaiah 14:12. [2] MICHAEL, whose name means "Who is like God," was the warrior archangel who appeared whenever there was war or impending battle. Revelation 12:7; Daniel 12:1; Jude 9. [3] GABRIEL, whose name means "God is mighty," was God's messenger who carried Divine communications to men. Luke 1:19, 26; Daniel 8:16; 9:21; 10: 10-21, 13.
