God And His Word - A Question And Answer Approach To Understanding The Bible

-------- What Do the Interpreters Say? --------

During this period of tribulation on earth the Church will be with the Lord in the air. Then, at the close of this brief but intense pe riod of tribulation, the Lord will come again publicly on the clouds of heaven with His glorified Church which was caught away be fore the Tribulation.is

Charles Caldwell Ryrie, prolific author on the subject, gives the following summary of dispensational premillennialism:

Premillennialists believe that theirs is the historic faith of the Church. Holding a literal interpretation of the Scriptures, they be lieve that the promises made to Abraham and David are uncondi tional and have had or will have a literal fulfillment. In no sense have these promises made to Israel been abrogated or fulfilled by the Church, which is a distinct body in this age having promises and a destiny different from Israel's. 19 Reading That Promotes the Dispensational Premillennialist View • Archer, Feinberg, Moo and Reiter.
